Incident happend at Mexico

A man died after receiving several bullet wounds and a woman was injured in the same 

incident that occurred last night in the middle of the celebration of patron saint 

festivities in the Riíto in the city of La Vega.



The deceased was identified as Luis Miguel Mella, 28 years old, while the injured 

is named Luz Nicol Abreu, who receives medical attention in the aforementioned 

city and has gunshot wounds to her right leg.



Exact details of how the incident occurred are unknown. The National Police in La 

Vega reported that they are investigating the case to identify the person who fired the 

shots, who managed to flee the scene in the midst of the riot.



In security camera videos to which this medium had access, the moment in which the 

shooting occurs can be seen. The people were on the main avenue of the El Riíto sector, 

in the vicinity of the San Miguel cultural club, located on the outskirts of the city. 

They enjoyed an artistic presentation in front of a stage, on the occasion of a 

celebration of the patron saint festivities of that town.



Dixon Rojas, police spokesman in the aforementioned province, pointed out that the 

investigations are deepening and videos from different surveillance cameras are being 

analyzed to determine and identify those involved in the bloodshed.
